  I love this church. It has really helped me to know God ,more than I ever have. Their slogan is "no perfect people".....everyone is welcomed with open arms,no matter where you are in your walk of life.

  When my wife and I got married, she didn't know Christ. She was from another country, and so when I took her to the church I grew up in, she left in tears, and I realized that that church made it so difficult for "outsiders" or "seekers" to come, that we never went again. It took four years to find another church where I felt comfortable bringing my wife because I knew that if she had another bad experience, that would be it... forever. From the moment we walked in to VL, we felt welcomed and at home. My wife loves it there, and we have been going there ever since. We travel 30 miles every Sunday to VL. We highly recommend it to anyone who has ever felt like they didn't belong or who worried about being accepted. The biggest thing that impressed me the first time I was there? When the collection plate came around, they didn't ask for money from the visitors. They simply asked that you fill out the connection card if you so desired (a little card stock card that allows you to ask any question you want or leave comments). I was hugely impressed.
